I bought this as a backup to one I had gotten from my orthopedist for use following knee surgery. It would out very well one had horizontal bag placement the other vertical I by alternating between the two I could get slightly different coverage. The first night following surgery I ended up using both one in front as intended and the other behind the knee to get some relief.
